Please meet at Redgrave & Lopham Fen Centre ready for a 10am start. There is plenty of free parking and refreshments will be available.
Design, make and decorate a clay plate inspired by natural forms. Using the slab technique, you will make a plate using clay. You will apply your design using coloured slips and a variety of surface decoration techniques including sgraffito, stencilling and impressing. All decorated ware will be bisque fired and glazed with a transparent glaze. This workshop is suitable for all abilities.
Louise Gridley is a local artist and educator; she has taught young people and adults since 2001 within schools, colleges, and the local community. She has a ceramics studio in Elmswell where she practices her figure-based artwork and delivers ceramics workshops to the public.
All ceramic outcomes will be delivered back to the venue (within 2 weeks) for participants to collect. A postal service can be organised by prior arrangement if you are happy to cover the full cost of the postage.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided and are included in the cost of the course.
