Wildlearning - Introduction to natural dyeing using native plants

28 August 2017, 11:00 - 15:30 (Add to calendar)

Spend a peaceful afternoon with local craftswoman Fay Jones in this wonderful ancient woodland learning about dyeing with natural plant & tree bark dyes. Fay will take you on a walk through the woods to identify and collect potential dye plants, you will then dye a selection of wool skeins to take home with you.

While the dye pots are simmering, you will learn different braiding techniques and enjoy refreshments in this lovely setting. Suitable for complete beginners.

Fay first learnt about dyeing when she was a Tudor re-enactor at Kentwell Hall. She has built up an eclectic knowledge of native dye plants and their identification.

Materials will be provided at an extra cost of £10, to be paid on the day to Fay.
