Wildlearning - Intermediate Hedgehog Care course
10 March 2019, 10:30 - 15:30 ( Add to calendar )
In the beautiful surroundings of Suffolk Wildilfe Trust's Lackford Lakes reserve, you will discover the magical world of hedgehogs, their habits and ecology, and how you can help to support their wellbeing in Suffolk.
The course will be presented by founder of Suffolk Prickles Hedgehog Rescue, Paula Baker, who has run many successful and enjoyable courses for Suffolk Wildlife Trust over the years as she shares her passion for these beautiful creatures.
In this Intermediate course Paula will give you more detailed information about hedgehogs. You will learn about anatomy of the hedgehog, lungworm, different illnesses seen at the Rescue Centre, various treatments, and ways in which you can help this endearing and endangered creature.
Hedgehog numbers have dropped alarmingly in the past ten years and we fear up to a third of the UK’s population has been lost. Participants on the course will be encouraged to become Hedgehog Advocates and guided to understand how to provide sustainable support and care.
Handouts will be available, but you may wish to bring a notebook and pen.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided and are included in the cost.
