Wildlearning - Hedgerow Preserves September 22

22 September 2018, 10:00 - 16:00 (Add to calendar)

Spend an inspiring autumnal day with local craftswoman Fay Jones in this wonderful ancient woodland learning how to make a selection of different preserves from sustainably foraged items.

Make an interesting selection of products gleaned from the hedgerows by Fay prior to the course. Learn how to make rose hip syrup, pine needle vinegar, crab apple jelly and others in the ancient surroundings of this lovely wood. As you will be venturing out to identify many of the materials you will be working with, please come suitably prepared for the weather and wear stout walking shoes or boots. No materials will be picked at Bradfield Woods as it is a nature reserve and site of special interest, but you will learn how to recognise them and how to pick them sustainably. You will leave with a seasonal selection of things you've made so you can celebrate autumn at home. Suitable for complete beginners.

Materials will be brought to you by Fay - and a cost of £10 is included in the cost of the course.
