An opportunity to explore pen and ink drawings with a watercolour wash in a supportive environment, under the guidance of professional botanical and natural history artist, Ruth Wharrier. Your finished work will be ideal for use as cards or gift tags for Christmas.
The emphasis will be on botanical observation, accuracy and seasonal plant material. All abilities will be catered for and receive individual tuition.
Ruth is a very experienced tutor who has run many successful workshops for the Trust. She studied Botanical Illustration at The Chelsea Physic Garden, London and exhibits widely. Examples of her natural history illustrations can be seen on the tourist information boards on Pakefield Cliff, Suffolk. Ruth paints in watercolour on paper, vellum and wood and also creates etchings and works in pen and ink. Ruth is regularly commissioned by international clients to decorate harpsichords, with flora and fauna using historical painting techniques.
