Wild Reads Nature Reserve Wild Walk
13 June 2020, 10:00 - 12:00 ( Add to calendar )
Inspired by Notes From Walnut Tree Farm by Roger Deakin, one of our Wild Reads, join us for a walk around Mellis Common Nature Reserve. This is not a place of tracks and trails but a living, breathing farmed landscape to be explored and enjoyed - something captured so beautifully by the village's most famous resident, the late Roger Deakin.
Wild Reads is a partnership project between Suffolk Libraries and Suffolk Wildlife Trust to promote our connection between the natural world and the written word. The Wild Reads booklist has inspired a programme of events at reserves, libraries and other wild places across the county throughout the year.
The Wild Reads booklist includes Wilding by Isabella Tree, Meadowland by John Lewis-Stempel, Nature Cure by Richard Mabey, Notes from Walnut Tree Farm by Roger Deakin, All Among the Barley by Melissa Harrison, Thinking on My Feet by Kate Humble, The Wild Places by Robert MacFarlane, The Peace of Wild Things by Wendell Berry and The Overstory by Richard Powers. All books on the Wild Reads booklist are available to borrow from Suffolk Libraries.
£4 per person. Booking is essential.
