Surveying hazel dormice: a course for consultant ecologists

Course content

· Brief introduction to dormouse ecology and survey methods

· Factors influencing surveys including method, habitat & connectivity

·  Fieldwork session involving new method (footprint tunnels,) and less used method  (natural nest searching) as well as more conventional methods (checking nest boxes, nest tubes and nut searches)

Booking essential. Please note due to the time of year it is highly unlikely that we will see a dormouse during the course.
